Are you preparing for a big move soon? Looking for tips or tricks to make this huge life change go off without a hitch? Well, I don’t have any for you quite yet! If you stick around long enough, I promise we can get ahead of some of those hurdles, crush those trials and errors, and discover some exciting plans and ideas together. If nothing else, it should at least be a good laugh. We are at the beginning of an exciting coast to coast move from Virginia to California. Had you told me a year ago that we would be considering a move, I would have never believed you. But, here we are! So let’s do this. 2020 rushed in, with all its wild twists and turns. Let’s talk logistics! If you aren’t caught up, head over to read the first part of “Moving Across The Country here. Now, we need to figure out how to move everything that we own, and ourselves, 3,000 miles away! We have moved quite a few times in the past eight years. From VA to a few places in PA, to NJ to WV to VA, now to CA. Our destinations were close enough to use U-Haul with the help of some great friends, or Kyle’s job would handle all of it. This time, we didn’t get a physical relocation package, only monetary assistance. So I have to do real research this time to pick the right company to move our stuff. Moving across the country with kids (and a dog) is quite an endeavor. At just over 3,000 miles, we are striving to complete it in 9-10 days with 2 or 3 of those days with no driving. It will take extra care and consideration to survive the long drive without collectively losing our minds.  Thankfully, my boys are used to going on long car rides.
